Job Summary:
The Skilled General Labourer supports daily production operations within the fabrication and manufacturing departments. This role involves operating machinery and power tools, assisting with metal processing and finishing, handling materials and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and according to work orders and drawings. The position requires physical stamina, attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Production & Machine Operation
• Operate CNC saws, robots and program machines when required.
• Operate power tools and hand tools to cut, grind or remove excess metal from parts.
• Use belt sanders to square and finish screen products.
• Passivation
• Work with stainless steel and other metal materials in production processes.
• Read, interpret and process work orders and fabrication drawings.

Material Handling & Support
• Assist pipe, screen cutting and fabrication departments as required.
• Transport raw materials and finished metal products manually or using carts, dollies or other devices.
• Load and unload vehicles using hand trucks or dollies.
• Sort metal sheets, parts and scrap materials.

Quality & Measurement
• Measure materials using measuring tape, vernier and micrometer to ensure accuracy.
• Remove excess or unwanted materials to meet production specifications.
Workplace Organization & Safety
• Maintain clean work areas and ensure equipment is kept in good working condition.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Report hazards, incidents or unsafe conditions immediately.

Qualifications:
• Experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment considered an asset.
• Experience working with stainless steel considered an asset.
• Experience with sandblasting.
• Ability to read and use measuring tools including measuring tape, vernier and micrometer.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented production environment.
• Standing for extended periods of time.

Work Environment:
Manufacturing and fabrication shop environment with exposure to noise, dust and heavy machinery. Prolonged standing, repetitive tasks and physical labor required. Strict adherence to safety procedures is mandatory.
